ISV’s skills assessments help us to verify the candidates possess the skills they mention on their CV and in the registration interview and the level of skills that they’re able to offer our clients. What type of tests and training courses do you use and what for? We have access to over 275 tests and online training courses. Typically, we test and offer training on a variety of software packages, customer service initiatives, spelling, grammar and general office aptitude. When and why did you introduce skills testing to Amber Employment? Well, we’ve been testing candidates since the launch of Amber over 12 years ago. We strongly believe that it should be a natural inclusion within the recruitment process and registering of candidates. It means that we’re fully compliant in our responsibility making sure we’re matching the right person with the right skills for the job. The only way we can guarantee suitability is by skills testing our candidates. Typically, how many applications would Amber Employment get a week? We can receive upwards of a hundred applications a week, and we have access to various platforms which opens the recruitment market for us considerably. Working with Voyager and ISV ensures that when handling high volume applications, we can identify the top candidates in the early stages of the shortlisting process. It saves so much time and provides a more efficient service to everyone involved. How would you explain the candidate experience with taking these tests? The candidate experience is significantly improved. In today’s market, candidates are looking for a brief, informative and engaging hiring experience. It’s simple, it’s stress-free, candidates can email their assessments with an easy to follow link, and results are automatically filtered through to our database for review. How are you testing your candidates? Is it typically in-house, online, or remotely? Well, candidates can complete the tests in the comfort of their own home at any time. We find that it’s a huge benefit as candidates are far more at ease, and clients get a true picture of their capabilities in a virtual office setting, when the candidates feel more relaxed. What do you think about psychometric profiling? Well, it’s great. It’s enabled us to give our clients a much deeper insight into a candidate’s mindset and their personality. Getting the right team fit between the client and the candidate was of paramount importance. Using the ISV psychometric testing contributes to our high retention rates.
